Masumi Grand Prix’ Sparkling

Founded in 1662 in the Japanese Alps of Nagano Prefecture, Miyasaka Shuzo—creators of the Masumi brand—is celebrated as the birthplace of No. 7 yeast, the most widely used yeast in the world. Originally serving as samurai to the Suwa clan, the family eventually laid down their swords after years of conflict to pursue sake brewing. Through dedication and a pilgrimage to learn from Japan's master brewers, they overcame near-closure to earn a string of national awards. Masumi remains a high-quality table sake, and their Grand Prix Sparkling sake undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle to produce fine bubbles, making it a wonderful treat on its own or paired with champagne fare.
