A 2017 International Wine Challenge Champion sake, Nanbu Bijin’s “Tokubetsu Junmai” is a staple sake that reflects the spirit of collaboration between the brewery and farmers of the city of Ninohe in Iwate prefecture. This pure-rice style of sake presents a fruity nose and rich umami that comes from the locally-grown Gin-otome rice. Excellent at different temperatures and pairs well with different kinds of cuisine like steak, seafood, even cheese.
