Description
The Nanbu Bijin Brewery was established in 1902 by the Kuji family. The founders originally engaged in soy sauce brewing before implementing those technologies for sake brewing. Its first decades faced transitions between the leading men and women of the brewing families. Following the death of the Sueta Kuji (first brewer), Nayo Kuji (his wife) took over in 1916 because their son was too young to succeed. War demanded the presence of Hideo Kuji (third successor), forcing Minako (his wife) to watch the sake business and son while he was away.
