Description

Fuji Brewery was established in 1778. Its brand name, “Eiko Fuji,” is a tribute to Mount Fuji, the national symbol of Japan. Now managed by Ariyoshi Kato, the 13th generation of the Kato family, it is located in Tsuruoka City, the center of sake-brewing activity in Yamagata prefecture, the first prefecture to achieve Geographical Indication. Ariyoshi, after leaving a career in finance, embraced his father’s efforts and the brewery’s traditions before leading innovative changes that have helped expand and renovate the brewery. Under Yamagata’s spirit of openness and constructive criticism, he works side-by-side with his trusted marketing manager and brewmaster.
