Description
Asahi Shuzo Co. was established in 1948. Located in Yamaguchi prefecture, the brewery’s claim to fame includes its Dassai Sake line. Their sake-brewing is driven by the intention to “brighten your life, not to drive sales or for you to get drunk.” While they believe that everyone should have access to this line of sake, their brewing is not completed with mass consumption in mind. The brand “Dassai” translates to “otter festival,” inspired by a number of otters that previously wandered in the rivers of their prefecture.
