Description
A unique take on the classic Akashi White Oak Blendedl Aged for 3 years in a variety of different casks, then finished for a further 2 years in Sherry Casks. Peated to a level of 10ppm and bottled at 50% ABV First time this has been released. Eigashima Distillery was the recipient of Japan’s first whisky license in 1919, though production didn’t begin until the early 1960’s. Founded as a sake history, and with a family and regional history of sake production dating to the Edo period, Eigashima Shuzo has expanded their production offerings to include wine, umeshu, shochu, and mirin, in addition to sake and whisky. Still a micro-distillery, they dedicate different seasons to each category. Whisky is produced in the colder 5 months of the year. Situated under 100 yards from the Osaka Bay, the distillery enjoys a warm coastal climate. The savory, saline driven purity of their whiskies showcase this special place.
