Rihaku Dreamy Clouds Tokubetsu Junmai Nigori

$42.00

This lively, refined nigori (“cloudy”) sake is a pioneer in its class. Most nigori are thick and sweet, but Dreamy Clouds is light and lean with a fruity complexity and nutty notes. Excellent with spicy noodles, risotto, or white fish.

Description

Rihaku Brewery is named after the famous Chinese poet Rihaku (known in English as Li Po) who is said to drink a bottle of sake and write 100 poems. The brewery sits in the northern part of Shimane prefecture, not far from Japan’s oldest Shinto Shrine, the Izumo Taisha. The soft water flowing down from the Chugoku range contributes to Rihaku’s well-rounded, mellow sake that makes a great food companion.
